Some users may still have BTC left from the Stacks legacy wallet that they’d like to deposit into Leather. If you have BTC in the Stacks legacy wallet, you can withdraw your tokens with Electrum Wallet by itself or with a hardware wallet.

How to Withdraw BTC in Electrum Wallet

If you’re not using a hardware device, follow these steps to withdraw your BTC:

  1. Download Electrum Wallet

  2. Select “Next” on the installation screen that appears to continue while making sure that “Default_wallet” appears in the “Wallet” field on the screen

  3. Select the “Standard wallet” option and click “Next”

  4. Click “I already have a seed”

  5. Enter the seed phrase associated with your Stacks legacy wallet

  6. Hit “Option” before you proceed to the next screen and check the “BIP39 seed” box

  7. Select the “legacy (p2pkh)” option and replace the derivation path with m/44’/5757’/0’*

  8. On the next screen, make sure the “Encrypt wallet file” box is checked and hit “Next”

  9. Hit the “Send” tab to enter the recipient address

*You must select the “legacy” option before you replace the derivation path value, otherwise the derivation path value will revert to an incorrect default value and your BTC will not appear in the wallet.
