Stamps and SRC-20 Support Ending on April 18, 2026
Leather is ending support for Bitcoin Stamps and SRC-20 balances on April 18, 2026. Assets remain safe on-chain; access continues via Stamp dApps or a compatible wallet.
Apr 17, 2026
Leather will discontinue support for displaying balances of Bitcoin Stamps and SRC-20 tokens on April 18, 2026. After this date, these assets will no longer be visible or manageable within Leather.
Stamps and SRC-20 tokens will remain safe in your Leather wallet because they cannot be accidentally spent by sending regular BTC transactions. As long as Stamp dApps support connecting your Leather wallet, you can still sign Stamp and SRC-20 transactions as you have been.
What is Changing
After April 18, 2026:
- Bitcoin Stamps and SRC-20 tokens will no longer be visible in Leather.
- Leather will not support sending, receiving, or managing these assets from within the wallet.
Assets remain on the Bitcoin blockchain and are not removed or altered.
What You Should Do
If you hold Bitcoin Stamps or SRC-20 tokens and want to retain convenient access:
- Transfer them to a wallet that supports these assets, preferably before April 18. You can still sign Stamp and SRC-20 transactions after that date as long as you can connect to Bitcoin Stamp dApps such as OpenStamp or Stampscan.
- Verify the receiving wallet supports Bitcoin Stamps or SRC-20 specifically.
- Ensure you have enough BTC to cover transaction fees.
If you do not take action, you may lose convenient in-wallet access to these assets through Leather.
Accessing Your Assets After Deprecation
After April 18, you can still access your assets by:
- Connecting Leather to Stamp/SRC-20 decentralized apps, as long as they support connecting the Leather browser extension.
- Restoring your Leather account (using the native SegWit address) in another compatible Stamp wallet via your secret key or hardware device.
- Using a wallet that natively supports Bitcoin Stamps or SRC-20.
Leather does not control third-party wallets and compatibility may vary.
Important Notes
- Sending Stamps or SRC-20 tokens to an incompatible address can result in permanent loss. Always verify wallet support before transferring.
- Network fees apply to all Bitcoin transactions.
- Your assets are not affected by this change — only their visibility and management within Leather.
Background
Leather is focusing development on Bitcoin and the Stacks ecosystem, including BTC and sBTC, STX and SIP-10 tokens, and Bitcoin-native DeFi use cases. Maintaining support for additional Bitcoin asset protocols requires ongoing external infrastructure and engineering effort, which limits progress on core features.
