Stacks officially kicked off its Nakamoto Activation sequence at the end of August. With faster blocks and 100 percent Bitcoin finality, the goal of the Nakamoto upgrade – and sBTC after it – is to enable even more use cases on Bitcoin. But Nakamoto’s activation wasn’t the only significant milestone for Bitcoin last month; just days before Nakamoto, the BitVM2 whitepaper was released, detailing improvements to the original BitVM model.
Both Stacks’ Nakamoto upgrade and BitVM2 are looking to lay the groundwork for developers, giving them the tools they need to build dApps and, as a result, a full-fledged digital economy on Bitcoin.
